![]() ![]() Oh and a small confession-I took a lil' inspiration from The Doctor character in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. I thought it'd be interesting if instead of a mask, the character was actually a bird, and what better choice than an avian that IS largely immune to a wide spectrum of diseases and is commonly associated with the dead (or soon-to-be-dead)? ^_~ I made his attire more Victorian (and ragged-looking) than Medieval, as the universe he's from is more along those lines. XD I've always been fascinated by the plague doctors of Medieval history, especially their outfits. ![]() Okay, I'll stop boring you will character details. He distills his own poison from a distinct mixture of different toxins from different sources-venomous creatures, fungi and herbs. He doesn't look it, but Mordecai can hold his own in a fight with surprising skill, using both his ivory cane and poisoned syringe together to parry and overwhelm his foes. His friend Ophie, however, is on neither side, and just sees Mordie as an older gentleman who just wants to do what he feels in his heart is right-something the crux greatly respects and admires. Some hail him as a hero, while others brand him a murderer. Mordie gets a mixed reputation as a result. ![]() He merely offers an end to their suffering should they desire it. As I wander the deserted streets of Athens, I cant help but think of when Id go for walks in March, 2019when the UK entered its first national lockdownand feeling similarly disturbed by how dead the city felt. He never administers against they're will. Replaying Assassins Creed Odyssey in 2022, this chapter hits different. Rather than watching incurable patients suffer a long slow demise and drugging them endlessly on painkillers, Mordecai offers them the choice of release from their failing bodies and the gift of mercy at the tip of a poisoned syringe. Meet Dr, Mordecai Du Val, a plague doctor in a fictional Steampunk/Victorian universe who uses his profession to be an "angel of mercy". this is a character I'm REALLY proud of and REALLY enjoyed both drawing and creating. I think this is a new personal record for uploads in one day. ![]()
